Tentative Roos Rec Center Re-Opening July 13

Dear Roos Members,

Now that we have entered Phase 4 and can operate our facility in a modified capacity under Phase 4 guidelines, we are looking at re-opening the Roos Recreation Center on July 13.

We will be placing equipment in the fitness room, multipurpose room, and half of the basketball gym to allow us to properly adhere to all social distancing guidelines while still having full use of our entire fitness inventory.

While half of the basketball gym will be filled with cardio equipment, the other half will be available by appointment only. You may reserve a hoop for a shootaround, but group sizes will be limited to 3 and contact will be strictly prohibited.

As we navigate our way through this process, we respectfully ask all members to follow all CDC guidelines to keep staff and Roos members safe during this time. This includes maintaining proper social distancing, disinfecting every machine or piece of equipment used, wearing a mask while checking in, and washing your hands. Most importantly, if you are not feeling well, or are exhibiting any type of symptoms, please stay home for the safety of all members and staff.

Failure to adhere to any of the guidelines set forth above may result in expulsion from the facility and potential forfeiture of membership for repeat offenses.

During our COVID-19 closure, all memberships were frozen. The membership that you had on March 13, when the building closed, will be what you begin with when we re-open on July 13. While we are excited to be coming back, we also understand that not all our members will be comfortable with jumping right back into things. With that being said, we will be offering three different options activate your Roos membership:

  • The current membership will be activated July 13, 2020 when the recreation center re-opens.
  • The member will opt to take a 3-month grace period to activate their account. If the membership is not activated by October 13, the membership will be terminated without a refund.
  • The member will choose to receive a refund of what is left on the membership that was frozen March 13.

You may contact us one of two ways to notify us of your membership decision. You can e-mail Andrew Doss, Roos Facility Coordinator, at ADoss@pdofp.org, or you can call the Administration Building at (708) 366-7500.
