Rieger Park Project Set to Resume With Warmer Temps
With great weather comes great constructability!
We saw some fantastic progress at Rieger Park in the fall of 2023. After a total teardown of the site and a long wait for a permit, the contractor was able to install the new pathways and open green space on the south half of the park, but the inevitable winter freeze put a majority of the north end project on hold until warmer days.
As we emerge from the worst of the winter doldrums, we wanted to provide an update about the near-term scope of the project while the weather is currently cooperating!
Our contractors were able to do some smaller work on site as they awaited warmer temps including an additional side project replacing a sewer line throughout the park to help alleviate a piping issue on the northeast end of the park that should help with water flow around the site.
Mother nature is on our side right now with 50 degree temperatures predicted for the rest of the week. The crew is expected to construct the bathroom portion of the shelter building this week. After that work is completed, the contractor needs to finish the concrete, walls, and stone work and then they will be able to start bringing in some of the equipment to build throughout the park!
While there is certainly still some work to be done, we’re excited to see a light at the end of the tunnel! We will keep you updated on the timeline as we get more updates from our contractor!
